Wittenberg is located in middle of Germany, 50km to north of Leipzig and 80km to the south of Berlin. Wittenberg has a population of 46,593 people and is the district capital of "Lankreis Wittenberg" (population: 122,467 people).
Wittenberg is a beautiful historic town and benefits from the "University of Wittenberg/Halle" and tourism regarding Martin Luther (He lived there.). Wittenberg benefits from very good communication links, train InterCity Express"Berlin-Leipzig" and the Autobahn A9 (Berlin-Leipzig). Further more, Wittenberg is located on the junction of B187 and B2, which connects to Dessau, Berlin and Leipzig
